If any of you have been watching/ reading the news, I'm sure you've heard about the nine year old who wrote a book called How To Talk To Girls. I guess some of his tips have been rubbing off on the younger generation who think they know everything about girls now :) Tonight Richard and I went swimming at the Rec Center where we got free passes from his work (which has been awesome!). A kid who was about ten walked past me on his way to the diving board. After he passed, he turned around and said to me, "You're pretty!" It caught me off guard and I just said, "ummm thanks?" and he walked away. I was trying REALLY hard not to laugh! Needless to say, even a compliment from a ten year old made me feel pretty good :) However, later Richard and I started swimming laps and I passed that kid a second time and once again he looked at me and said, "you're pretty!". Only this time, instead of being flattered I began to be a little creeped out by this confident little Don Juan! I thought Richard would step up and tell the little guy to back off but he didn't hear his "original" one-liners either time! Next time we go to the pool, he'll have to watch my back more closely!

V-Day Fun
Valentine's Day this year was a whole lot less romantic but a whole lot more fun than it probably is for most (although I did get very beautiful roses and my favorite chocolates!). And we prefer it that way :) Richard knows that I have always wanted to go snow shoeing so he decided it would be perfect to spend Valentine's Day snow shoeing up the canyon. It was snowing which made it colder and wetter but it was still a blast! I could not have asked for a more fun way to spend Valentine's Day with the best man in the whole world. Here are some pics of our fun adventure.

Naughty Richard
We actually found someone else as crazy as we were out in the snow to take our picture
That night, he took me to my favorite restaurant (Ruby River, they have amazing steak!) and then we watched the movie I gave him, The Dark Knight (a very romantic movie...). It wasn't what some would call a good Valentine's Day but it was perfect for us!

Books anyone?
Since I have a lot more time to read after finishing school, I am in need of some good books to read. I've already been disappointed by a book that I thought was going to be good and ended up being dirty (I lost all respect for Dan Brown!) and would really like to get references instead of just picking a random book of the shelf. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Ice Skating
For date night last week we went ice skating. It was PACKED when we got there and so we thought we'd just spend the night avoiding skaters who had fallen and winding through groups of girls holding hands so they don't fall. But luckily, I have a super creative husband who can make anything fun. And by the end, we were two of only 10 people left in the rink, so it ended up being great! At first we just took some pictures of us skating but then we starting taking videos of us doing crazy things. Richard is pretty good and kept trying to show off for me ;) Here's one of the million videos we took of him being just plain crazy: (Sorry they are all sideways, I don't know how to switch videos...)
He even tried to teach me how to skate backwards, though I never got very good at it. Here's my attempt:
And here's what we did for the last half hour- dance like crazy. Most of the time we danced together and it was a BLAST but we couldn't get a video of us doing that... so you'll have to just enjoy watching Richard show us his moves!!!!
It was a GREAT date night- I'm glad we have so much fun together and aren't a boring married couple ALL the time
