This WHOLE Week...

Richard will be at a conference in Florida. WITHOUT ME! What's a girl supposed to do without her handsome hubby around?!

V-Day

Valentine's Day was so much fun!! We celebrated most of it on Saturday this year since A) we couldn't do much on Sunday and B) Richard is always gone all day Sunday so that would have been lame anyway. I have really started loving V-Day in the last couple of years, probably because now I have someone amazing to celebrate it with :) I made Richard promise me that he wouldn't get me a bouquet of roses this year because I am way too practical and I hate that he has to spend like $40 around Valentine's to get me decent flowers. But he couldn't help getting me a single rose (that was gorgeous!) and I honestly prefer just a single rose so it was perfect for me. He also gave me a box of my favorite truffles and stuff to make chocolate-covered strawberries for later that night. We went to Ruby River like we do every year and had AMAZING steak and then went to Color Me Mine to make fun V-Day decorations, which was a blast! Then we came home and watched Serendipity and made chocolate-covered strawberries and some chocolate-covered-anything-else-we-could-find. It was a GREAT day and I'm so glad I was able to spend it with someone I love so much!

Here are the final products of our activity:
Richard said "Leave it up to a guy to make a black heart". I guess that's what happens when I make him do a Valentine's decoration instead of something practical :)

You know what I would love?

Living in a place where stuff didn't break all the time. I realize you can't live somewhere where nothing EVER breaks, but in the year and a half that we've been here, we've had two fridges, the washer, the dryer, the shower, the kitchen faucet, the water heater, and the pipes under our bathroom sink break. Today we had a new surprise. We were sitting in our kitchen and all of the sudden heard this weird noise from under the kitchen sink. Richard went to investigate and found that one of the pipes burst and was shooting water everywhere in our bottom cupboards. Great. Is this normal for apt living or are we just incredibly cursed? I guess I should just count my blessings that my roof hasn't started leaking yet like it did in my sister-in-law's apt. So now we are waiting somewhat patiently, with no water in our house (to keep the pipe from spraying all over the place), for our landlord to get here. ~sigh~ Another day, another broken appliance.

Boring Work Post

Feel free to skip right over this if you want to....

Today I found out I'm changing jobs again. Not changing companies, just changing responsibilities for the 4th time in a year. I started out as the PHP Admin, then was pretty much forced into switching over to be the Accounting Admin (although it ended up being a really good change), then became a "Billing Specialist" (whatever that means) and now I will be a member of the Refund Team for our company. Don't ask me why they are training me on a new job 2 mos before I have my baby.... but I'm excited. I really like learning new things to do at work. I confess, it's probably more that I really like hearing "Wow you're a really fast learner", but I do love switching it up every now and then. I think this will be a good change for me. So wish me luck!
