September 2021

The next step in our kitchen renovation was to get the backsplash up. We got a peel and stick kind and it was pretty quick and easy. It's starting to look more like a full kitchen now!

We had amazing luck with raffles this summer. After Brooklyn won her bike, I won a OSU package from a festival we went to in downtown Hilliard. The giant chair is hilarious- the seat of it is taller than our kitchen table!

I also won a raffle from a library event and snagged a bundle of kids books!

We put the giant OSU chair to good use and used it as the birthday chair for Richard's birthday. We went for a nice walk to a waterfall in Dublin and spent some good time outside.

Holly moved back to Indiana (although she's further away than she was before) so we decided to meet in the middle and have a girls trip. We decided to stay in Louisville so we could attend the temple- my first time back since they closed in 2020! It gave me some much needed peace and I had a blast with Holly, even though the trip itself had a lot of disappointments. We had a surprising amount of food that was not good but we made the best of our sister time! The first day we basically just went to the temple, got ice cream and walked around the area outside our hotel. The next day we spent hours trying to find a breakfast place and finally had to settle for Chick-Fil-A sandwiches and fries at 11:00. We decided to do an escape room that ended up being super fun and we barely finished in time with some hints from the game master. We walked across the Big Four Pedestrian Bridge and found some swinging benches by the river so we just sat and talked for a long time. It was gorgeous weather and nice to just sit outside and chat. That night we had tickets to see the Odd Couple at a theater that also served (a very disgusting) dinner. The play badly need to be updated and the main actor was very annoying but it was nice to be out doing things again! The next morning we found a ward to go to first thing in the morning and then drove home. It was really good to spend time with her!
