We were so excited to find out that the two trees in our backyard are Buckeye trees! We knew we would have to try to make our own Buckeye necklaces. I couldn't believe how many hundreds of Buckeyes we gathered from just our one good tree (the other one was kind of dying and didn't have many Buckeyes or leaves). Richard was so brave to let the girls drill holes in them and then we dried them out to make necklaces later.
I have only been apple picking once before so we decided to take the girls to a new place. I've decided that I would rather pick my apples from the grocery store but the girls loved eating as many apples as they wanted and picking ones WAY up high in the trees. Brooklyn especially was a fan of taking one bite, throwing it on the ground and grabbing another one to taste- ha ha.
Kaylee has been begging me to make slime since she has watched countless YouTube DIYs and slime is the latest craze. We have a lot of learning to do I guess because it didn't turn out great and make a big mess everywhere. We even got some stuck in Brooklyn's hair. But Kaylee could not have been happier!
Kaylee learned what poison ivy looks like the hard way. At school, her and some other girls had been playing with leaves they found climbing up one of the trees and had been chasing each other around with them. She was a little itchy on her arms but the worst was her neck. It was bright red and itchy and I took her into the doctor who said she must be allergic to poison ivy because she also had hives, which is why it looked so bad. Poor thing was very itchy for days!
