Time for another theme night! Since the Olympics were coming up, we decided to make that our theme. This one was probably the most tiring theme night we've ever done. Partly because we were constantly on the move and partly because the girls had no idea what the Olympics were so we were trying to explain, watch, demonstrate, and help them learn the events.
We started off with the running of the torch, of course! We filled a paper cone with Cheetos and had McKenna run in from one room to Kaylee, where she poured some of her Cheetos in Kaylee's cone and Kaylee ran to Richard who ran to me :)
Then we went right into our events! We did the luge,
speed skating, (here are the girls showing off their "skates")
figure skating,
and our very own invention of "toss the marshmallow into the Olympic rings", which the girls loved.
Skating was also a big hit and they wanted to do it for days after. We did our speed skating around the couch and our paper skates worked great. I purposely didn't post any videos of that but trust me, we looked awesome trying to mimic the speed skaters :) McKenna was too scared to do the luge so I tried it one time and almost died. Apparently laundry baskets are not meant for adults.....
We ended the night with our medal ceremony in which we all won Gold medals! (which the girls had decorated) We have quite a talented family.
This was a good theme night but definitely one that we will need to wait until they are a little older for them to really get it. They still had a blast though! It was a very fun night.

Love, love, love this fun evening. I love Kaylee in the luge. I sure wish you would have filmed you coming down the stairs with your eyes popping out!! I loved your comment about laundry baskets not being for adults. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!
You're so fun and creative! It looks like a blast!
I would have enjoyed that video of you coming down the stairs in the laundry basket also. Very cute ideas. Glad you are having so much fun with your cute little kiddos.
